Additional peculiarities of the municipality:
Nova Sloboda municipality, established in 2017, comprises 36 settlements covering 517.3 square kilometres. Positioned along the Seym River and the regional P-44 highway, the municipality shares an eastern border with the russian federation, making it a frontline territory operating under severe security challenges.
The local economy relies on an agro-industrial complex supported by fertile chernozem soils, timber, and mineral resources such as clay, sand, and peat. Despite frontline risks, the local administration maintains a functional primary healthcare network consisting of two family medicine clinics and nine medical posts.
The municipality possesses a unique cultural and tourism cluster, featuring 70 registered heritage sites, the Safroniiv Monastery, and the distinct Horyun subethnic ethnographic museum and festival network. For international organisations and relief donors, this border municipality requires targeted support centred on civil protection, critical infrastructure resilience, and the preservation of its vulnerable cultural assets.
