Additional peculiarities of the municipality:
Pochaiv municipality, located in the northern part of the Ternopil region, is situated on the Voroniaky low-mountain range. The municipality possesses a globally prominent cultural and historical profile as the home of the Holy Assumption Pochaiv Lavra, an architectural and monastic complex dating back to the 16th century that serves as a major international centre for pilgrimage and spiritual tourism.
Beyond its cultural significance, the local economy features a highly specialised and rapidly expanding high-value agricultural sector, with approximately 2,000 hectares dedicated to commercial berry cultivation, including raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries. This intensive horticultural focus is balanced by the commercial management of roughly 300 hectares of municipal water bodies utilised for modern fish farming and aquaculture, which stabilises the local food supply and diversifies regional market revenue.
The local administration is focused on using its robust agricultural output and steady tourism footprint to generate youth employment and fund public infrastructure modernisation. For international organisations, agricultural development funds, and cross-border tourism networks, this well-established municipality offers a secure and distinct platform for projects targeting intensive agro-processing, food supply-chain integration, and sustainable cultural heritage management.
